The Faculty of Clinical Informatics is now accepting applications for new Members and Fellows
The Faculty is working to develop the profession of clinical informatics, building on the Core Competency Framework, and working as part of the Federation of Informatics Professionals (FedIP) to ensure an inclusive and comprehensive approach. Now is a great time to join the Faculty and help to shape the future of the profession.
“FCI is an excellent platform and good starting point for raising the profile and mainstreaming clinical informatics within NHS and beyond. I was keen to join the Faculty and interact with other like-minded colleagues for achieving its key objectives i.e. to develop professional competencies for clinical informaticians and to provide accreditation for informatics-based training programmes.”
Mahmood Adil, Medical Director of Information Services Division (Scotland) and Health Protection Scotland, NHS National Services Scotland
FCI members benefit from a wide range of opportunities, from career development support (through mentoring and support with revalidation and appraisals) to the chance to join Faculty Special Interest Groups (including Clinical Safety, AI and Early Careers) and Professional Interest Groups for nurses, midwives, allied health professionals, those working in digital medicine, and healthcare scientists. Members also gain access to exclusive Faculty events, including 2 annual conferences and regular online webinars. Members are also kept up to date with the latest ideas and advances in clinical informatics through monthly e-newsletters. We also have a growing international membership.
The deadline for applications for Members and Fellows is Thursday 30 September*. Applications for Associate are accepted at all times.
We are very pleased to be able to offer bursaries again for Faculty membership:
• Healthcare Scientists, with thanks to the National School of Health Care Science
• BAME women, with thanks to the Shuri Network
