 FCI Education & Training Lead 

Could your expertise in education and training services be the key to boosting that UK’s skills in using data and technology to improve people’s health and care? 

The Faculty of Clinical Informatics is a vibrant, young charitable organisation with a growing membership. Backed by Health Education England (HEE), we are working at pace to support a wide range of health and social care practitioners to develop recognised professional skills and help fill the gap of 12,000 new clinical informaticians needed by 2030.

We’ve created the new role of Education and Training Lead to identify the learning needs of FCI members and plan how these will be met through external providers as well as through the development and delivery of our own training services. 

The successful candidate will be great at collaborating with external organisations, such as HEE and its equivalents in other UK nations, FedIP, universities and other educational providers to ensure that quality training is available to health and care professionals working in digital health at all stages of their careers. 

You’ll be skilled at project planning, working within defined budgets and delivering on time and have a track record of stimulating adult learning through a variety of formats such as self-directed learning, online learning, work-place learning. You’ll be excited by the challenge of being the pathfinder in this new role and making a significant impact, supporting our members to develop their skills, aligned to our Core Competencies Framework.

We are a friendly, flexible small team, committed to supporting a diverse workforce.  This permanent role is fulltime with a mix of home working and occasional working from our office in London, E1 8QT.

Salary: £51,000 - £56,000 per annum pro rata

The purpose of the role is to undertake assessments of CPD learning resources.

Accountable to
: Lead for CPD Accreditation
Term of office: One year initially, with opportunity to renew, following review 
Appointment Criteria: Member or Fellow of the Faculty
Remuneration: Remuneration to be provided for time spent at £300 per 8 hour day

The workload associated with this role is flexible. As this is a new service, it is not possible to estimate the workload as it is dependent on the level of demand for CPD accreditation.  

Main responsibilities 

  • An ability to carry out audits of a variety of courses at various levels (in your subjects/specialism) to determine whether the training meets the criteria.

  • The ability to write clear, concise and accurate reports.

  • The ability to conduct assessments objectively and to remain professional at all times.

  • A professional approach to the work of an assessor, including completing assessments on a timely basis.

  • Willingness to proactively feedback ideas to the Faculty.

  • Attendance at induction training and engaging in ongoing quality assurance measures, particularly around consistency, including an annual moderation exercise.  

Person Specification

The following attributes will need to be demonstrated through the application for the role.

 Outcomes Based Healthcare (OBH) is looking for a Senior Data Analyst to perform analytics and support building the company’s population segmentation, healthcare outcome measurement and HealthSpan products. This is an opportunity to work with pseudonymised patient-level healthcare data across multiple care settings (including primary care and secondary care) at a national scale.

Salary£60-75K pa + benefits, based on experience

As a Senior Data Analyst you would:

  • Develop, validate and test queries for segmentation and outcomes
  • Develop technical specifications and data definitions for algorithms that can be applied to a diverse set of health outcomes data (including patient-level data from secondary care, primary care data from GP systems, mental health, community, and maternity)
  • Use knowledge and expertise to bring together the team’s product ideas, and clinical insight, to analyse and interpret data for outcomes measurement and population segmentation, drive product development and support client delivery of analytical outputs
  • Support analytical work required to develop outcomes-based payments solutions for pharma and life sciences clients.
